Did you know that just EIGHT allergens account for almost 90% of the total allergies experienced by millions across the world? Only eight substances, including a dairy allergy, shellfish allergy, and peanut allergy, make up the majority of allergies — a staggering fact. Here we take a look at four of them. Maybe seeing one of them will trigger memories of experiencing symptoms of allergies; if so, you should take an allergy test as soon as possible.
Dairy
A dairy allergy is incredibly challenging to identify without an allergy test as the symptoms mimic those of the common cold. Mucus production, nasal congestion, and sneezing can all result from contact with dairy products when you have a dairy allergy. If you feel like any of the above symptoms occur for you regularly, take note next time you consume a dairy product whether or not there is any correlation with the experience of these symptoms. A dairy allergy is best identified by taking an allergy test; we have them to suit all budgets here.
Eggs
An egg allergy is commonly characterized by inflammation of the skin, also known as a rash. These rashes can be incredibly itchy and so probably sit at the forefront of your memory if they’re regularly occurring. If you frequently eat eggs, you could cause long term damage to your skin by itching the rash. It is best to identify an egg allergy as soon as possible, so you know that you need to avoid consuming them completely.
Shellfish
Do you ever get that tingling sensation in your mouth? That itch you can’t seem to scratch? Do you also experience swelling of the face? Have you ever noticed this always seems to happen when you visit your favorite seafood restaurant? Well, what you may be experiencing (unfortunately, if you’re a prawn fan) is the symptoms of a shellfish allergy. But, consider yourself lucky. A more extreme reaction from a shellfish allergy is swelling of the airways, sometimes to the point where you can no longer breathe. Avoid this potentially fatal outcome by taking an allergy test today.
Peanut
Probably one of the best-known allergies due to its high-risk status, it is absolutely ESSENTIAL to know whether you’re living with a peanut allergy. If you don’t, you’re potentially exposing yourself to anaphylaxis from which fatality is a genuine possibility. On the extreme end of the peanut allergy spectrum, some people cannot even be in the same room as peanuts as the dust particles could easily trigger a fatal reaction.
Take an allergy test
Taking an allergy test can be the difference between life and death. Please don’t put it off any longer. We have a range to suit all budgets, which will identify a dairy allergy, a shellfish allergy, or any of the many other tested.
